We recently heard that Samantha Moran was beginning to work on the sequel to "Dakota's Gift." Our family loved the first book so much that we have now purchased and given away over 30 copies. Just this month, we gave copies to three teenaged girls in our neighborhood and two copies to family members. We have already given copies to all of our children and grandchildren and many others who we have told about the author and her talent for sharing God's love through her writing. Last week we ordered 5 more copies. Three to give to our church's youth program and two to keep in reserve for someone in the future who may need uplifting. We're also attempting to get Ms. Moran to speak to the youth at our church about using their spiritual gifts. We can't wait for the sequel to be released along with any future books written by Ms. Moran. Jay Royal, April 8, 2016

I was Blessed to purchase, received, and have the book autographed by the author, Samantha Moran. The writing is captivating, and descriptive from the beginning to the end. You felt as if you were next to Dakota during her adventure. The author has also shown how to dare to trust and keeping your faith in God is very important. A must read! Santosh Avvannavar: Santosh started his career as a consultant and Soft Skills Trainer. After his college education from NITK, Surathkal, he worked as a researcher at University of Eindhoven, University of Twente, and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He was also the Placement President while working at IISC, Bangalore. He has over twenty-five publications of mostly research documents in national and international journals. An entertaining and a unique story about the aspiring authors told by Authdas..Must Read!

Surrogate Author: Authdas Journey of Nine-month book delivery! is truly a humourous account of the toils of an aspiring writer from the inception of the book idea to its delivery. Written like a play, I loved the whole Devdas theme the authors used to narrate the story. Authdas is the author who is in the shoes of Devdas from the similarly named Bollywood movie. The book is playing the role of Paro from the movie and so on.

The first thing that attracted me towards the book was the idea behind it. Dedicated to all the aspiring authors of the world, this book promised a quirky and funny account of their writing journey. Then the cover is also very unique with a cartoon of a boy writing and the various thoughts going on in his mind. Both these aspects of the book sold it to me and left me eager to read the book.

A short read, I finished the book quickly and am happy to say that I laughed and enjoyed reading it. I felt connected with Authdas and could empathize with him on his various dilemmas, insecurities, the social pressure and the difficulties in his path of becoming a writer! We face all these issues and many more when we put on the writing cap.

The writing style of the authors is simple and they are able to connect with the aspiring authors and with the general reader through the various scenarios they present in their book. Kudos to them on a job well done!

Although, I absolutely loved the book, I could not overlook the grammatical errors with misspelt words, wrong usage of tenses etc. which somewhat lessened my enjoyment of the book.

All in all, this is a short and very entertaining story which will appeal to every reader, especially to the aspiring authors. 4 out of 5 to Surrogate Author: Authdas Journey of Nine-month book delivery! and recommended to everyone. Had the grammatical errors been handled by giving more time to editing, I would have definitely given this book 5 super shiny stars. I hope these errors are handled in the next edition.

A PILGRIM'S JOURNEY.....

Journey through Sahara without a drop of water would have been easier.
No, it may not seem as difficult as it is really is.
It is producing your first book-the innocent looking bunch of papers, printed and within two covers!
To the writer the first book is like winning the world cup by India for the first time!
The writer has to cross the first hurdle- working relentlessly on a plot (if it is a fiction), then developing it after billions of scribbling and finally the well glorified book.
But it is not the light at the end of the tunnel....
It is just the beginning............
Then going over to the demigods called publishers, literally begging for their mercy to have a look at the book........
And finally getting refusal...............
Then one day the lady luck smiles and the child see the light of the day.
To the new author the love with the debut novel is no less than the love of Romeo to Juliet, Laila to Majnu, and Orpheus to Euridice.
And Devdas with Paro.....
In this backdrop this hilarious tale of the plight of a new writer tells you the plight of a new writer-where Authadas the protagonist and a technocrat-`London return'is all set to producing his new masterpiece.
Forgetting the world, forgetting the profession....

As it was easy to relate the story to the mentioned film

Santosh Avvannavar and Shilpa Patil joined hands to come up with “Surrogate Author”, a hilarious take on the journey of becoming an author. It is loosely based on the film ‘Devdas’ by Sanjay Leela Bhansali where the aspiring author “Authdas” has been described as book-lorn or book-sick. He needs immense inspiration to write his dream book “Paro” and the story thus goes on in a humorous as well as satirical manner. The book has a separate section which contains some valuable inputs on how to start as a writer.
As it was easy to relate the story to the mentioned film, it was a fun read for me. The authors have genuinely dedicated the book ‘To Aspiring Authors” and I hope they will surely find some food for thought in this book.

This author could be one to watch...

Having read another title by this author I saw this, his latest release, and made no hesitation to grab it. Good decision and so far I've not been disappointed...I feel like I'm rushing to the end tho, cos the plot is hugely engaging and if I were to have any real critique, it'd be that it's too short! I don't want to tell the story here but the multi-layered plot does grip you...reminds me of a more comprehensible "Crash" (the movie), if you've seen it. Just better. Kudos Mr. Caine, and I'll look out for your other books....

This book was a enjoyable to read. The writer did a good job of engaging readers with an interesting and moving story. This was a great read, so I will definitely recommend it. I look forward to seeing what other stories this writer will create.
