So-so write-up of survival

I was really looking forward to reading this true tale of survival but am disappointed in the amateurish writing. The subject matter is good but the way it's handled is dismal. Way too much detail--it almost seems as though the author's trying to describe a movie to someone. The cutesy dog comments are annoying and the cooking details made me feel as if I was reading a recipe in a cookbook.
The chapter on Roy's wife, Ann's infidelity was unnecessary and could have been summed up in one paragraph. Then, imagine my confusion when the author begins to mix up the characters. Harold shows up alive again in chapter 17 and then seems to become Ann's husband when Marge contacts Ann's in-laws! How does the author expect the reader to keep track of all the characters when she can't? There are way too many people running around in this book, although it is slightly helpful that the author indicates which group we're dealing with in each chapter.
The whole thing is too scattershot for me with minutiae that kills any kind of flow or momentum. I find myself skimming through whole sections and even chapters just to stay interested. I'm struggling to finish it but won't be reading anything else by this author.

Excellent reading, very sad memories

I'm an avid nature reader for all my entire life, without any doubts this incredible hell that all those persons went through, it was more than a test that a human being should encounter, especially for Joe, good head over his shoulders.
For all of them including the rescue squad, if that is true that there is a paradise some where, they must be all of them there by now.
Couldn't put the reading down since I have started it.
At some point in time couldn't help the tears.
Recommended for all reading ages, good book, it will give you a hard test of the REAL life, especially for the human being that is abusing of his/her body with damaging substance, playing to be God itself.
