About the Author
Kiki Leach was born and raised in Oklahoma City, OK where she still resides. As a child she was surrounded by books, pens, and notepads, all of which she quickly took advantage of from the time she could read and write. Her favorite past-time has always been telling stories and in college, was encouraged by her mother and professors to take her storytelling more seriously.
She also writes YA novels (The Fallen and The Inner Circle) under the pen name "Inez".

Like, I caught myself actually fixing my hand to ...

I got physical invested while reading this book. That invested I was in the characters. Like, I caught myself actually fixing my hand to punch the heroine when she just couldn't seem to snap out of her funk and stubbornly persisted in her 'woo is me' spiel. And I yelled 'score' and raised my hand to hi-five the roommate that was also in love with the heroine when he told the other roommate her ugly truth.
All of the characters in MI were flawed, they reminded me a lot of Gossip Girl, the multicultural version obviously. You had spoiled and troubled 20 somethings who were friends since childhood, conniving and backstabbing their way trough high school and not really behaving much better in adulthood. Like.
This book started out slow, was a bit wordy at times (too much details) but overall a good and fun read. So much so, that I immediately purchased the sequel Decision Makers and finished it in one read. Now impatiently waiting for book 3...

I thought the main character Vanessa was a bit whiney. I wanted to smack her a couple times and yell wake the Hell up! Her ex best friend and ex-boyfriend had moved on she should have done the same. This happened the senior year of high school and five years later you are still stuck. She is so stuck so long she is missing the blessing that has been in front of her the whole time. She is letting the two people she trusted most in high school run and ruin her life. She has given away her power to them. She become to judgmental and just miserable. I would have burned the invitation but RSVP with a HELL NO! and All the best to you both and keep it moving. Book kind of dragged along with all of her whining.
Can't wait to read what happens in the sequel Decision Makers now that she attempted something old with the ex and attempted some new with the her blessing.

Well I hate to not give a good review but this book just didn't do it for me. The main character was just not developed well and I have a hard time reading about weak women. I would only suggest giving it a try because this is just my opinion but I kept reading thinking it would get better but was left disappointed.
