It was ok

The book was a little lackluster to me. There was no real passion or drama and Latoya irritated me so bad I wanted to slap her. She was so selfish and immature it was ridiculous. Latoya never stopped to think about how some of her actions and her attitude played a major role in how Shon and Whitney sometimes carried her. She just came off as self-centered and arrogant even though we know she went through some tragic events, it seemed like she felt it was ok to be nasty and cold to people but they'd better not treat her that way. I'm wondering if Shon and Whitney got close during Latoya's absence. I'll probably read part two strictly out of curiosity.

LAWD, Toya had me ready to slap her so many times b/c of her reckless mouth & nasty attitude. But once she opened herself up, you could understand her pain (because it was written with so much raw emotions by the author), but this chick still irritated me for at least 80% of the book because she was so selfish and only thought of herself instead of how her actions may have affected her friends. But I guess that's good because the author succeeded in making sure we felt the emotions that she wrote about. Shon was someone that could help her hell as she could help him as well, but they always seemed to run into obstacles (most of then because of Toya) that kept them from doing so.
Overall, I give the book 4 stars. The story flowed & the background on the characters helped us to understand them. There were several errors throughout the book that confused me at times, which is the reason I gave it 4 stars.

Latoya is something else her mouth is slick.house sitting for her neighbor wiz while he picks up his homeboy from prison. Dealing with a heartbreak from her first love toya lashes out at her ex in th club.Whitney her best friend tells her truth about her actions but Toya being selfish doesn't care for her words. Shon dealing with his own demons likes toya but her mouth and pushing him away but he still theirs.toya breakdown after learning that d died she shuts everyone out but shon gets through to her an tells her he love her only to have her dodge him. Shon tired of playing games with toya confronts her and walks away after she dismisses her feelings him.Tay runs away for a year only to come home with a secret she may regret.
