Great View!

Mystery, murder, and suspenseful twists and turns kept me flipping the pages of Love’s Hidden View, Robert Valleau’s final book in his series, The Dusty Road Chronicles. And many passages stuck with me long after I closed it. The author quickly plunges his readers into the heart of the story and gives them a tantalizing ride until the surprising, palm-sweating end.
A sudden inheritance of gigantic proportions catapults Abigail Brennan head first into a position with mind-boggling responsibilities—a position coveted by an evil person or two who threaten Abby’s endurance and existence.
But Abby is not deterred. She hangs onto her faith and drums up courage time after time through respect, love, and admiration for her deceased benefactor, Ann Holler, whom she calls Peep. Ten years prior, Abby had spent five years at Peep's ranch for troubled teens, and remembering Peep's trust and belief in her propels Abby to go great lengths to prove she is worthy of that trust and capable of running such a giant conglomerate—an estate worth millions.
However, Abby has trouble figuring out whom she can trust in such a huge organization: Peter, the chairman of Holler Enterprises; Evelyn, the woman who has always been the executive assistant to Ann Holler; Nick, the handsome board member Abby is dating; or the tall rodeo star cowboy who mysteriously appears on the scene. As they began, one by one, to prove untrustworthy, Abby begins to question her decisions. Her life as a single parent with a physically handicapped child she loves dearly is stress enough, though she wouldn’t trade her son for the world.
Robert Valleau does not disappoint. He has exceeded my expectations once again in Love’s Hidden View. As in his other books, the author sprinkles inspirational messages throughout the story. My favorite has to be words spoken to the protagonist via a recorded message made by her benefactor, prior to her death: "Whatever you dream, you can achieve. If you believe the doubts in your mind, then the dreams in your heart will die." We should all apply those words to our lives today.

Tied with a Bow

What happens when a kind Christian woman passes away and leaves everything to someone she hasn’t seen in years? Young, single mother Abigail Brennan is surprised one day to find she’s inherited a vast estate, but quickly realizes she will need help to run it. Who can she turn to? Those she trusts have their own agenda…
This novel, the last in the series documenting Peep Holler’s life and legacy, neatly ties the story line up with a bow. The antagonists intrigue and the innocence of the main character confounds the reader as we turn pages, hoping she’ll be okay. Not quite CBA (some references to sex and alcohol), this book nonetheless offers a strong testimony of God’s abiding love and protection of those most in need. So many gems of wisdom are hidden in the lines of this story. A very entertaining read!

Suspense, Love and Mystery!

Suspense, mystery, love, murder, mayhem...what a truly suspenseful read! Young mother in her late 20's, Abigail Brennan, and her 11 year old son, Ryan, are uprooted from their home in Austin, Texas, due to Abby having inherited 'Peep' Holler's vast estate. (Ann, nicknamed 'Peep' when she was just a girl, is the heroine in Mr. Valleau's first book 'Mystic Dreams and Dusty Roads'). Seemingly overnight, Abby, becomes a billionaire. As exciting as that sounds, a lot of responsibility comes with being the CEO of a huge conglomerate, and she is forced to rely on some of the company's executives to show her what she needs to know about Holler Enterprises. But, all is not as it seems, as we turn the pages of this gripping book. I thoroughly commend it.
