not traditional ‘romance’ in terms of the styling, this story is cute and fun, the perfect getaway read.
By Gaele
3.5 stars
A wonderfully fun novella that is set to follow Chelsea over a 24 hour period. Julia London has built this story with a strong female character, battling the glass ceiling in the male-dominated advertising world. Her current obsession is to gain the advertising account for Tessla, but the agency partners have been playing her along, never quite giving her the plum accounts.
Chelsea’s attitude, approach and demeanor are all hands off – she thinks this projects strength and confidence, while her co-workers find her prickly and unapproachable. When they lure away a hotshot ad man from a competing agency, Ian assumes that he is jumping in to save the day.
These two are obviously and rightfully at odds, although Chelsea’s reactions are over the top at times: her insecurities about her position, and her belief that she ‘deserves’ plum accounts despite all evidence to the contrary is frustrating, and she is underneath it all- unhappy.
A quick paced, less romance than self-discovery novella that has a chivalrous if somewhat unrealistic twist at the end. Ian and Chelsea arrive developed and solidly characterized, and most of the interest in this story is derived from their interactions and interior thoughts about one another. While not traditional ‘romance’ in terms of the styling, this story is cute and fun, the perfect getaway read. The epilogue gives readers something to grab onto after that twist, and it really does add a nice touch to the end.
I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Two fun novellas!
By Kerry Croucier
One Mad Night:
Chelsea Crawford has been a successful account executive with the same agency for years, but can't seem to catch that one big account to move her up. When the partners lure Ian Rafferty away from a rival agency, things get that much tougher for Chelsea. She sees him as full-of-himself and reliant on sex-appeal, he see her as uptight and stuffy. Unfortunately, they become rivals for the same accounts. When a big one comes up, Chelsea is told it is hers to lose, until the partners decide to change the rules and have both Chelsea and Ian pitch for it.
The day before the big pitch, both are working so hard they don't realize the little snow storm has turned into a blizzard, and everyone but them went home.
Stuck together, both realize that their beliefs about the other are wrong and actually find themselves liking the other as a person. Of course, some of the earlier sniping at each other was due to fighting their attraction, so what can happen when two people are alone, together, and seriously attracted to one another?
This was a fast-paced, quick read. The characters were realistic with believable qualities and interactions. Chelsea was a strong heroine who worked hard. Ian was handsome and self-confident, who also worked hard.
I love how they came together and how things were wrapped up. Though a novella, I felt it was well-paced and developed with an ending that was completely satisfying.
The Bridesmaid:
The Bridesmaid, is a novella that reads like a novel. Kate and Joe are sitting next to each other on a plane, each headed to Seattle for different reasons. Kate, a fairly recent transplant to New York for her dream job, is headed home to Seattle for her crazy cousin's wedding with the ugliest, poofiest bridesmaid dress, ever. Joe is on his way to Seattle for what will be his dream job. They are stuck next to each other on the plane, and each is everything the other doesn't like about the opposite sex. Then Mother Nature steps in with a wicked sense of humor, and combined with human problems, it becomes a case where anything that can go wrong when you travel, does. The plane is diverted and grounded due to a storm, and that is where the story takes off. What starts out a Joe feeling sorry for Kate, stuck with her dress, becomes a growing friendship and relationship, as they get to know each other while deal with all the problems they face, trying to get to Seattle on time. Yes, there are Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. The relationship develops in a short time, but never feels like it is anything other than natural. It is such fun, wondering if they will make it in time, but then what will happen...will it be a short romance? I love the way the characters develop, and the situations made me laugh out loud. I was definitely sorry to see the end of this story.

Contemporary romance with a blizzard theme!
By Michelle Fidler
Although I prefer historical romance to contemporary ones, this was a pretty good book. Two novellas are in it and a snowstorm figures into each one. Chelsea and Ian were the characters in the first novella, One Mad Night. They worked at an ad agency and did not get along. In fact, they acted like they hated each other. I guess I don't like books set in the cut-throat business world or ones where the would-be lovers hate each other at first. They were in competition for accounts and a promotion. Due to a blizzard, they were snowed in together and changed their attitudes about each other.
I liked The Bridesmaid best, the second novella in the book. Kate and Joe were traveling by air, car, and train in order to get to Seattle. Kate had to attend a wedding as a bridesmaid. Bad weather and an air traffic controller strike were why they had to go by car and train. One mad dash to get to Seattle in time. This one was cute and more enjoyable than the first one. I liked the characters and they got along better than the ones in the first novella.
